Why should we read books?
First of all, I give an example. If anyone see something on television, he/she is watching the scene and there is no scope for imagination. He/she is being shown directly, right? If it is book, there present some writing. Suppose, in the book there is written " blue sky ".When someone is reading, he/she is imagining blue sky though there is nothing blue or sky in the book actually, there present some letters. He/she looking with eyes, touching retina the signal reaches to brain, brain analyses the signal and then he/she imagining blue sky, all right? This is a very sophisticated process. Until this process occurs, our brain will not develop. This process will not occur while he/she is watching television. But when he/she reads book, the exercise occurs. This is the first reason of reading books. To develop the brain, we have to read books. If he/she makes reading a habit, there are various kinds of books in the world for them. I will never be able to see those person who had passed the earth. But when I read their writing, it seems they are sitting beside me. Humayun Ahmmed(Brother of the speaker who was a famous writer of Bangladesh) had passed this earth, when a reader read his books, it will seem to him that Humayun Ahmmed is talking with him. This is a very mysterious matter. Thus, we have to read books. The biggest thing is that if one time reading become a habit, we don't have to worry about the children. That's why we are very eager to encourage our children for reading. We were a middle class family. But my father had a good habit of buying books. He brought a lot of books. We passed our childhood seeing books. Humayun Ahmmed had become famous writer, the number one reason is that he had read so many books at a limited time which is incomparable. When someone had read so many books, there grow a power of writing within him. If anyone wants to be a writer, he/she must have to read more. By reading, he will become a writer. This will be the reason for which all of our family members have the skill of writing. We had the habit of reading. We had read a lot of books. This is not only true for me, this is true for anyone. For this reason, I am very passionate to encourage our kids for reading. If they will generate the habit of reading, I have no tension for them anymore.
